PERSONAL INJURY and PRODUCTS LIABILITY
"Personal Injury", "Wrongful Death" and “Catastrophic Loss” are general terms that can apply to many different types of claims. Anyone who has been injured or killed as a result of the negligence of another in an Automobile Accident Slip and Fall or or by a dangerous and defective Product may be entitled to monetary compensation through a Personal Injury or Wrongful Death claim.
Product Liability claims involve injuries caused by the negligent design or manufacture of a product, the failure of a company to properly instruct the consumer on how to use the product, or the failure of a company to warn consumers of the product's inherent dangers. Any product, large or small, can be defective and entitle a wrongfully injured person to monetary damages. Pharmaceutical drugs, power tools and other dangerous equipment are different types of products that may cause damage or bodily harm. For example, the Consumer Product Safety Commission estimated that toy related injuries totaled over 210,000 in 2004 alone, with over 96,000 of those injuries involving the head and face.

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE
It is estimated by an Institutes of Medicine Report that medical mistakes account for as many as 100,000 deaths every year.
Generally, medical malpractice occurs when a physician or other healthcare provider, including employees of hospitals or other treatment facilities, fails to provide the required standard of medical care resulting in harm to the patient. Common examples of medical malpractice include surgical or anesthesia errors; failure to timely diagnose or misdiagnose cardiac disease, cancer and other serious illnesses; improper treatment of cardiac disease, cancer and other serious illnesses; failure to properly interpret diagnostic results; administering the wrong drug or the
wrong dosage of drug; failure to obtain informed consent; failure to warn of drug or transfusion risks; and failure to appropriately monitor a patient's illness in a hospital or outpatient setting. These errors can cause a wide variety of injuries and medical concerns including death, shortened life expectancy, allergic reaction, orthopedic abnormalities, organ damage, brain damage, nerve damage and other serious complications.

PHARMACEUTICAL LITIGATION/LIVER DISORDER LITIGATION
AND TYLENOL (ACETAMINOPHEN) POISONING
The American Liver Foundation estimates that 25 million Americans, or approximately 1 in 10, are or have been afflicted with a liver or liver related disease. The cause of liver disease can range from chemical poisoning from common cold medicines and viruses that afflict the liver, namely the Hepatitis A, B and C viruses. Liver disease can sometimes be treated with medications, but may require more drastic measures like liver transplantation. Patients with liver disease can
sometimes develop liver cancer.
Liver failure due to acetaminophen poisoning is on the rise; nearly 50% of all acute liver failure is linked to acetaminophen poisoning. Acetaminophen is the active ingredient in the pain reliever Tylenol and has been scientifically linked to liver failure. Acetaminophen is also used in many prescription strength pain relievers such as Vicodin, Percocet, Darvocet, and is used in common over the counter cold medications, such as Nyquil, Robitussin, Benadryl and Alka-Seltzer. If you or a loved one has suffered from liver failure or overdose from using Tylenol or other drugs or medications containing acetaminophen, you may qualify for damages or remedies. To learn more about whether you may have a claim for liver damage, please contact an attorney at The Law Firm of Robert C. Price.

EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION
Sometimes tragedies are not physical or psychological. The disruption of your family due to employment discrimination is a tragedy that can strike at the very core of your financial existence.
Discrimination is essentially, unequal treatment. In Pennsylvania, it is against the law to treat a person unequally, to “discriminate”, against him or her because of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, sex, age (40 and above), handicap or disability, among other things. The law extends to situations including employment, housing, places of public accommodation and educational institutions.
The process of determining discrimination first involves the filing of a complaint with an administrative agency, either the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (state) or the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (federal).
If you feel you have suffered discrimination at work, please contact an attorney at The Law Office of Robert C. Price, as your time to file a complaint may be limited.

IMMIGRATION
Immigration is one of today’s hot topics. Immigration law becomes relevant whenever any person intends to seek permanent residency or citizenship in the United States.
*Due to the heightened use of the internet, immigration issues arise in “internet dating” situations when a non-citizen wishes to marry a U.S. citizen. In this instance, the United States government wants to know whether the marriage is a sham or whether it is a bona fide marriage. Some come to this country seeking refuge from hostile political environments. Others simply want to make the United States their new home. The Law Office of Robert C. Price can help you prepare the documents required by the United States government and represent you at your hearing.
*Immigration and citizenship is now regulated within the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), a federal agency in the Department of Homeland Security.
To learn more about filing for residency or citizenship with the USCIS, please contact an attorney at The Law Firm of Robert C. Price.
For additional information see the USCIS website at http://www.uscis.gov.
